NO MEMBERSHIP VOTE . . . NO WORK! COUNCIL DELEGATES EVERYWHERE DO NOT REPRESENT THE INTEREST OF THE MEMBERS . . . THEY REPRESENT THE INTEREST OF DOUG MCCARRON. MCCARRON IS THE EMPLOYER'S BEST FRIEND. EVERY CONTRACT, OVERSEEN BY MCCARRON, WILL FAVOR THE CONTRACTOR. MCCARRON IS CLUELESS WHEN IT COMES TO THE NEEDS OF THE WORKING PERSON. TAKE NOTE, EVERY CURRENT COUNCIL DELEGATE, WHICH VOTED FOR THIS CONTRACT NEEDS TO BE VOTED OUT. REMEMBER, THEY ARE MCCARRON'S HANDPICKED LACKEYS. WHERE'S THE DEMOCRACY?

I fully support the creation of a “Provisional Carpenter” status contingent upon the creation of “Provisional Representatives, Council EST’s and Delegates, and UBC Officers” who will then be paid considerably less in exchange for advancing the interests of the membership.

I have been in contract negotiations with Doug and the first thing out of his mouth to the contractors is what do you guys need!!! McCarron has sold out this membership, all the delagates are Alumni of delegate training at the international training center where Doug can brainwash them, most are full-time positions with in the brotherhood others aspire to be an organizer or a business agent so they'll go right along with dirty Doug. NYC is still full of Corruption, Doug McCarron is a criminal ,Frank Spencer is a criminal Michael Capelli is a criminal

    Do not be confused.
When " leadership" says " for the good of the union" it does NOT mean for the good of the union member ( current)
Wake up. This is an effort to " reorganize" by attrition.
You slowly undercut the existing membership by introducing a second tier of pay and raise dues check offs.
It doesnt " help" the contractor. Not really. Most contractors make money on the rates we get.
This will be the implosion of the already punch drunk carpenters union we are in the 10th round after suffering beatings in about 6 rounds. We are ready to go down to the mat.
McCarron , amazingly, hasnt " disappeared" yet.
McCarrons plan alllllll along was to organize as many " illegals" and put them in the union at a substandard rate .... Then have them allll on obamacare yet still draw a huge hc deduction from the employees. His gal hillary didnt get in.
    Yet he still pushes forward.
News flash. Trump knows mccarron is a ball tickling scumbag.
    Watch 2nd term.
Doug will be going to jail.

McCarron and his associates have destroyed the UBC they inherited from their predecessors through shear incompetence. Our problem is not organizing undocumented Carpenters it’s failing to to do so that is the problem. If 90% percent of the construction industry work force is non union how do you think the UBC lasts? It doesn’t and it will not last. The non union contractor and his work force could care less about the UBC or any other Building Trade Union because they control the market, and the industry, not us, thanks to our failed leadership. A good non union carpenter, working in a major city, can make as much as a “Union” Carpenter with out paying 10% of their gross wages in dues, they don’t do MUP’s, they don’t pay into retirement programs that won’t exist in 10 years, etc, etc. I don’t want to work non union, it’s not worth it, but the bigger problem for us is that the majority of construction workers don’t want join a union like ours either, and why would they!!

What should be and what is are two different things, and what should be doesn’t matter. We need new members, regardless of their legal status, to maintain conditions, benefits, and a retirement with dignity. All of which has been lost by McCarron Inc. The problem is that the majority of non union Carpenters don’t want to join the UBC, they may not have it great but they don’t want to work to give their hard earned money to McCarron’s dirt bags!! Understand this: everything we do and have done is based on market share and when we don’t control more than 10% of it, it’s almost a lost cause!! The construction industry could care less about the UBC because McCarron is completely incompetent, and therefore ineffective. Union Carpenters only make decent wages in a few markets anymore, everywhere else the non union carpenter can make the same or more!! And McCarron is working to fuck up the last few good markets left with provisional Carpenters. So why would anyone want to pay dues to make less?? The answer is not many.
    Politics:
It doesn’t matter who you vote for because most politicians don’t care what you think because you don’t matter. And since most Carpenters are like most Americans who vote based on a few irrelevant issues like gun control or abortion, vs their own economic interests such as protecting prevailing wages, they matter even less. So even when you have a chance to vote for someone who can actually protect your job you’ll go and vote for a candidate who is opposed to prevailing wages because they support guns!! These are the same kind of idiots who voted to elect McCarron and then voted for his changes to the Constitution. We’re at the Rubicon now, the point of no return, if McCarron or has hand picked replacement is elected at the next convention it will be over, because there won’t be much left to save after another five years. And don’t think the Feds are going to save you either from McCarron, there’s only a small chance that he and his “team” get tossed because of an investigation. Getting rid of McCarron will come down to members growing some balls and deciding to fight back. McCarron has been successful to date because no one has stood up to him in a meaningful way, when it counts!! You want change?? Your going to have work for it!! And it starts with putting together delegates that work in the field not in an office, to go to the convention!! How hard is that??? Not very, but it takes some fuckin initiative, so get busy, and get ready for the next convention!!!! I’m talking to every member!! Stop worrying about illegals being asked to join a Union they don’t want to join in the first place!!!! Let’s get to work!!!!

oh so we need the illegals to save our union or should have rewarded them better so they would save the union boy we sure have turned into a piece of shit

ya don't worry about illegals being asked to join the union they don't want to they can make 60 dollars an hour prevailing wage and build huge ranches in mexico and all paid for by American taxpayer

Let’s set the record straight. Here in Philadelphia knowing that we have not had an election for our delegates in over seven years for one is against the law. If our delegates which are dog McCarron crony bitches appointed by a bunch of suck asses votes for this kind of a contract here I give you fair warning there will be an uprising in this city. You guys do not have all respect as it is including all of our E board members. So imagine if you guys back kind of contract. Two more years left and your fate lies in your hands. 🖕🏿

Actually the moderator does not "pull down" anything. What he does do is REFUSE to post messages that threaten people or incites others to hurt people. I get to do that because this is my blog. I also do not post messages that have F...as every other word. While I am not offended by the word others are.Want to have all your submissions posted. Smarten up...

I think what that writer was trying to say ... Was the situation is escalating and the inaction by " proper" channels , is contributing to what ever the future events may be , but certainly are avoidable by proper due diligence and execution of the law and statutes.
I dont think they were advocating or inciting anything , but, were clearly painting a picture of true human nature and the reality of what is going on.

Get ready to run Delegates that are working members to the regional Council. All you have to do to win is ask the members if they want Contracts like what NYC just got. Ask the members if they want what the DC Carpenters get. Ask the members do they want more or less provisional Carpenters. Ask the members if the want what the Pittsburgh Carpenter gets. Ask the member if they want to retire with Health Care as the previous members of the MRC have. Ask the members if they want to continue the MUP program or not. Ask the member at what age can the Pittsburgh Carpenter retire with a full Pension? I believe the answer to that question is 65!!!! Those questions and more are equal to pulling on a thread from a sweater, it will unwind. Those questions will be fatal for the Representative Class of Delegates. You just got to start early and get the Vote out!!!

Demand an entire list of " your" delegates.
    Name and contact number.
Since they wont poll us.... We will call them.
Imagine. A rubberstamp delegate having to actually be accountable to a frigging pissed off membership.
Seeee. If this happens... The lackey stooge appointed delegate will quit. Thus opening it up for a delegate that will vote the members will ( as much as possible)
Ps. Olms. Phila has not had a delegate election in over 7 years!!!!!
    Hello. Its against the law.
    Where is the oversight???
See. Im thinking you guys dont actually understand the meaning of oversight.
It DOES NOT mean to over look.

Your questions are good. Again it goes to the complete lack of communication and transparency of what is the " new" rules.
We are not informed by design.
Its like when something happens they pull out their paperwork and say " surprise"!!!
    Its part of the game.
Let rumor and innuendo and misinformation disseminate.
The real reason they wont put anything in writing and mailed to every member ... On paper... Is because they are afraid of an informed membership bc an informed membership will take that paper to an attorney and expose the glaring "potential" illegality of what they are implementing.
This is a fascist dictatorial regime in charge.
You are fooling yourself if you think you have a say or a vote. ( by the way that in itself is enough for an investigation and suspension of " not for profit" and " tax exempt" status.
Our union takes every opportunity to take your money.
Dues weekly ( increased without a vote)
Annuity sold and reinvested ( without a vote)
Vacation checks divided into 2 accounts one being a " health savings card" without a vote.
Ps. The vacation fund is not a health care card fund. This in itself was an actuary driven move to create a new account that bears interest ( for them) and honestly, if challenged, would be struck down as a violation of the CBA.
    Lets look at savings plans.
Your earned money. Yet you cant access it unless its under an " approved" hardship or tuition.
Thennnn. The union takes a 10% cut of your friggin money that you had to beg for. How is that legal?
Lets cut the union out and pay the carpenter direct the contributions in his check.
Its allll about profit power jnterest and funds!! For them.
    Lets look at health coverage.

    Feds. Listen up.
You need 600 hours every 6 months to continue your health care coverage.
If the carpenter contributes 599 hrs he and his family lose coverage buttttttt the 599 hrs are not reimbursed to him... Which is his moneis from a cba.
So carpenter is not covered and the over 6000 dollars he DID contribute are gone.
Instead of getting reimbursed the funds he did contribute to by some kind of care for his family... It is " gone" . into the " general fund"
    How is that legal.
Ohhhh there is soooo much more.

This policy of meet the minimum amount of hours worked or get nothing and they keep your money has been in effect in Philly and else where for years. I think it sucks!!! But I doubt it’s illegal, I could be wrong, but until you challenge it in court it’s not gonna change. Consult a slip and fall attorney and ask them to sue for your money back that was kept by the fund even though you didn’t qualify for health care. You don’t know until you try.......

      And there lies the problem.
For all those years we " doubt it is illegal"
      We dont even know.
We were dismissed quickly any time we asked.
Many would never dare to question anything because of fear of retaliation.
Thus... We never reallllly know or knew if it is or isnt.
Health coverage in all unions is the most powerful fund they have.
The 2 mergers we have suffered have been directly manipulated because of this fund via george norcross ( a health ins broker and owner of Connor Strong... An insurance broker giant)
      As a matter of fact...
In or about 2002... Ed Coreyll sr was sitting on penna blue cross and blue shield.
Norcross approached ed and wanted to be the broker for the mrcc fund. Ed told him to pound sand.
Norcross then began making in roads in phila politics and alliances on a purely vindictive and greedy quest.
Like connor strong ( norcross) attaining a seat at the board of directors of the convention center, and norcross buying out the inquirer from under the mrcc to then slam us at every opportunity in the newspaper and press. Norcross forming alliances with local 98 johnny doc to use their pacs to erradicate any political support we had...which at the time was bob brady... Whom you watched get set up and forced to retire... Our last ally in the city.
You then saw nj carps via frank spencer ( childhood friend of norcross) then contribute 750k dollars to the mayor jim kenney campaign via lu98s pacs. And norcross pac which was now combined with nj carpenters pac and was money laundering via the new pac director trish mueller.
Mueller ran norcross's pac and refers to steve sweeney nj senate maj ldr as " dad"
Mueller was " forced" into the carpenters via norcross/ spencer/ sweeney.
That money also went to pa sup court justice kevin dougherty.
Meanwhile we supported hardy williams because williams promised ed sr his seat on the convention center board of directors.
Alll the while frank laufenberg was " misappropriating" the funds of new jersey carpenters to the point that they had level 2 healthcare and no dental.
Then bam. They take over phila and the 2.6 billion in assets and the money flows everywhere without accountability and all of the sudden nj is in the black again.
Until they were caught and then you saw things subside and quietly monies were brought back and HEALTHCARE plan was then renamed phila and vicinity.
Laufenberg was to be named as the prescription plan coordinator. Ballantyne was just approved to the board of horizon blue cross and blue shield of nj. Norcross wanted phila 22000 mbrs hc contributions moved across state lines and invested in horizon and express scripts.
Ballantyne fire laufenberg ( who is friends with spencer/ sweeney/ norcross...magically ballantyne is fired...we merge again with pittsburgh, but ballantyne files a 14 page whistle blower suit.
It gets to superior court and the ubc pays ballantyne 6 million to walk away but not until it set the table for phil murphy to go scorched earth on norcross cabal.
Meanwhile.....we DO switch to express script ( rmbr that name) without a vote or notice.
Our health coverage changes to " independent administrators" an entity partly brokered by connor strong ( norcross) and now its 46k mbrs from pa. Roughly.
      Shalll i continue?
This my friend is NOT a " slip and fall attorney"
This is a complete federal forensic audit of every player and their family.
Seee. The more you know perhaps the more you might care. The word illegal will certainly find its definition in allll that has transpired.
All we are asking for is that audit. Federal judge.
You never know until you try.

I left out a few things but ill gladly answer them.

A common carpenter can put all that together? It’s not that hard! DOL, FBI and the rest of the Department’s have way more resources! So I ask, what are you guys afraid of? Why wasn’t this investigated years ago? Us members are tired of these departments sleeping with the enemy! All we ask is for a fair top down investigation on these guys. DO YOUR JOB!!!! Again I have to respond anonymously because of fear by our leaders. Just look at Nunes up in New York. Please help.

That about sums its up.....Unfortunately..... Sad fact is these guys, the Jersey and McCarron crew, saw Philly is a fat hog ready for the slaughter and they had the knife. The reality is that the rest of the construction industry is glad Ed Sr., is gone because now they can do anything they want without any real push back, the balance of power favours then now. Mean while, our new leaders play the fiddle while Rome burns....... Hopefully 2020 opens a window to possible change. You guys that retired, enjoy it!!!! Because the rest of us that haven’t retired, are fucked!!
