Mike Powers is a stand up member who has pulled the covers on bad behavior and is being persecuted for speaking out. This is ridiculous!!! The NYC District Council is an honest and capable non profit Labor organisation run by members, who could work anywhere else!! Example, EST Geiger is an accomplished tradesman and business manager who is growing market share for his members and signatory contractors!! Just last week the CEO’s from Whiting Turner and Turner both said they are going to resign with the Carpenters because of EST’s Geiger’s astute management capabilities.
Is there organised crime in NYC?? Unfortunately yes there is. Are these Organized crime groups working with the NYC District Council to defraud hardworking members and contractors?? Absolutely NOT!!! Judge Berman would never let that happen, nor would all the retired law enforcement officers who work for the members everyday as part of the consent decree.

And a double pension as one from the council and one from the International. And to top it off a nice salary from between $140,000 to $225,000 an year. Let’s take John Sheehy who makes over $200,000. Year, never misses a golf tournament and owns a Landscaping and Nursery business in New Jersey( Avalon Plant Systems in River Vale NJ). Stephen McCann another Council Representative owns( Aston Mechanical and Plumbing in Wantagh Long Island) ,Paul Edwards in the IG’s office owns ( J-Square Construction a non union) company. Robert Villalta a business Representative owns non union company( D-K Management under his brother Ozzy)Vincent DeLessio a union Rep for local 212 and a shop steward owns( Pine Wood Construction out of Staten Island ) and there are more. When you figure you find it hard your self to a days work but to have a full time company on the side, well they do it on the memberships time, your phones, your cars and no body does nothing!! When is it all gonna stop and who is gonna clean up the carpenters as the guards at the doors are letting the inmates do what they Want ! And that is screwing the membership!! But if a member does a ceiling tile in a bodega he is up on charges.

Neither Mike Billello or Mike Zemski Were vetoed for consent decree violations.Mr Zemski was held responsible for another business agent in the local abusing his credit card.
