You can contact the accounting firm who prepared the previous Council LM2’s and ask them for copies of the financial documents they reviewed in order to prepare the LM2’s such as credit card statements, certain receipts, cell phone bills, etc. I’m working on some issues my self with OLMS. Those credit card statements have to be worth their weight in Gold...... Oh Council Trustees you can be personally sued for failing to execute your duties as a Trustee....

Remember the DOL and the other agencies that have oversight over organised Labor cannot open an investigation without probable cause, this a basic civil right that everyone, for better or worse is entitled to, we the members have to provide the probable cause. How do we do that? Send letters to the EST of the EAS and request the following documents:
1). All credit card statements for the previous 2+ years,
2). Council Expenditure Reports for the last two years,
3). Job Recovery Applications and the approval notices.
Once you get those records then you can review them for violations and submit them to the US DOL that’s the probable cause that needs to be satisfied once that happens you can kick back and watch those smiles turn upside down into frowns.

Most members don’t participate in the oversight of their Union because most people don’t participate in the oversight of anything effecting their lives outside of their immediate needs. It’s frustrating but it’s human nature. Our Union administrators regardless of member engagement have a legal obligation to responsibly manage our funds and our benefits. The fact that they are not is what’s going to lead to their ouster!!
Focus on the fact that you as one member can hold this who organisation accountable from the comfort of your home!! How so?? With a computer and access to the internet you can request copies of any documents you want, from credit card statements to emails, to receipts, etc. You can down load any document you want from the DOL OLMS website for FREE. You can tell your employer to stop deducting dues out of your pay check that you didn’t authorise by vote or by signature on an authorisation card. I know it’s frustrating but don’t get too mad at the average member for being average. When any opportunity arises to nominate a member for anything you can take it and then Vote for them. Change is coming!!!
