Believe me this is true!!!! I was asked by a Doug kiss ass to get $100 dollars from every agent. Of coarse I said no and everyday he still asks me if I changed my mind. I keep telling him I am in tough times. He is so nervous and doesn’t know what to do...

I am a contract law attorney.
I will say this.
The member body , based on reading your current constitution, by laws, and federal law pertaining to the conduct of organized ( labor unions).
The entire member body of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, do indeed have a law suit for breach of contract.
Your " union" broke the contractual agreement with you the moment there was the introduction of a " 3rd party entity" aka regional council.
I will not get into it in depth yet on here.
I will however let you know that the moment you introduced an electronic algorithmic " employment" device... Is the moment that the said union abdicated its rights to engage in collective bargaining on members behalf.
Unless every one of you has signed an actual up to date consent document allowing the " new" council to negotiate on your behalf they are engaged in a fraudulant representation of rights of the member rank and file.
Short version.
You cant " switch" a contract expectation without explicit documentation of what the duties of the " union" are to its assessed rank and file membership.
2 key areas to focus on are:
Representation and protection.
Contracted Hiring Hall.
That’s a mouthful for sure. I don’t how valid your claims are but I do know that I am protected by the US Constitution, the LMRDA, and court rulings providing clarity on what is permissible conduct on behalf of the Union.
Regarding representation know this; the UBC Constitution, the current Regional Council Bylaws and LU Bylaws all clarify what the Union can do to me, there is very little that pertains to my protection. Terms and conditions of employment are outlined in local CBA’s and no where else, and most CBA’s have been hollowed our by McCarron approved snot eaters, ie the new NYC Interior Carpenter Agreement. But hey if you want chase this four wheel burning ambulance with us, welcome aboard!!!
