The refusal to not inform members of what he paid with our money to Ballantyne is as we know against the law. As part of the settlement I’m sure Ballantyne has to sign an NDA and might have also had to agree not to run for GP or EST. None of which really matters. Last but not least, the decision to settle with Ballantyne, Weakley, and JB’s assistant was not just Doug’s decision, all the executive officers to Vote yes and the signers on the UBC GF had to put pen to paper and sign the check. What any member can ask for from the UBC is the same that you can ask of your LU, and that is all statements associated with each UBC account which will show all deposits and payments. If anyone makes that request in writing to Doug and CC’s the US secretary of Labor, you’ll get what you your looking for. I’d be willing to wager that some lone commie already has the information and is waiting to release it say at the GC.......

Most Latino construction workers will not join the UBC or any Union for that matter, primarily because the Union can’t offer any benefits worth paying for anymore. The provisional carpenter program is already here, that language was included in the NRCC Bylaws by Sproule and Ballantyne a couple of years ago. Is the provisional carpenter language in the EAS Bylaws? Probably, if it isn’t it will be there soon. By placing this language in the Council Bylaws you don’t have to put it in any local Agreement. So what to do??? Stop paying working dues assessments, this is the cleanest and most efficient solution to our lack of real representation. No taxation without Representation!!!!

Council Bylaws are changed by the Council Delegates and no such notice to the members is or was provided. Now one could argue that the Delegate to the Council is supposed to carry the will of the Local Union that he represents to the Council Delegate Body so therefore all LU members affiliated with that Council should be notified by mail, so they can attend a Local Union wherein members can direct their Delegates as to how to vote on any given issue at the next Council meeting. But we could argue for that and a lot other things as well that don’t happen. But none the less I think change is in the wind.....

That lawsuit will prove to be fatal because all the claims were true so they couldn’t fight it, but by settling it they acknowledged that JB was right, and now they are trying to hide the amount of the settlement from the members who paid it, which is not possible. The local powers that be are scared. Johnny Doc is due in Court this September at which point he will have to plead innocent, guilty, or cop a plea in exchange for his cooperation. All the powers that be that you mentioned are most scared of Johnny taking a deal and becoming a witness.
