Pushed out for not following Banes advice:
I attended the 1995 UBC Convention in Vegas that voted in McCarron's Team. Did my job and didn't blow money while there. In 2000, the convention was in Chicago. Same vote for the team and all went well. Long about 2002, Banes came to me and wanted me to run against a head of a Regional Council who I respected. I was told that this was my chance to go further in the Union and could almost guarantee me a win in the election. I was already a Local Business Manager, a trustee on our Pension and Health & We[fare board, A member of the Regional E-Board and many other positions through out our local industry.
I refused to go along with Banes suggestion and was told I could go back to working with my tools if I didn't play ball. Well stupid naïve me could not of dream that our regional council members would vote out the current leader. Well they did by conning old and registering new delegates the did by 2 votes. The only board member re-elected was myself and 3 others. All others lost their jobs immediately.
I could not work for the new head so I soon was run off after being threatened by him. I refused to work for a corrupt officer of the Union. I went on to work back with my tools and never looked back. By the way I made more money after stepping down as BA. The other two Organizers that supported the change, were soon fired by the guy they voted for (6 months later). What a look on their faces the night of our Local Union meeting that it was announced.

Who's kidding who? Doug Bains has for all intent and purpose been unofficially retired for years! I guess now the check stops?
Silins and Banes are two examples which shows that UBC general officers’ positions are waste of members’ dues money. The idea of having general officers, and a general executive committee is an antiquated concept. Ask yourself, what do general officers do? What are their responsibilities? What are their accomplishments? The UBC membership spends millions of dollars each year to employ these idiots who produce nothing! They do not organize new workers into the union. They do not educate current members of the brotherhood. They do not negotiate labor contracts. All they do is enjoy fat checks and vote yes on every union destroying policy McCarron puts in front them. All of them have stood and watched as PLA’s undermined good labor agreements; pension and health care programs are decimated; members thrown out of the union over fabricated UBC charges; local unions and councils merged because they were not in support of McCarron tyrannical rule. Wishing Silins and Banes a happy and healthy retirement is a joke . . . good riddance is more appropriate!

A complete forensic federal audit of every officer and allll their family members would be even sweeter.
