DETROIT – Former United Auto Workers President Gary Jones was indicted
on embezzlement charges and defrauding the U.S. government as part of a multiyear corruption probe into one of America's most prominent unions, according to the indictment which was unsealed Thursday.

conspired to "embezzle, steal, and unlawfully and willfully abstract"
more than $1.5 million in cash and assets for personal gain to fuel
"lavish lifestyles."
(2)Senior union officials involved in the scheme allegedly bought lavish dinners and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on hotels and private villas and tens of thousands of dollars on cigars as well as golf green fees and merchandise.
(3)When the federal investigation was made public in July 2017, it focused on a jointly operated training center between the UAW and Fiat Chrysler.
In recent months, the probe has widened to top union leaders unaffiliated with the training centers being involved in embezzlement of union funds, money laundering, and other illegal activities.

So if this loser and his associates are going to get charged, arrested, and convicted, then one could conclude that team McCarron will face the same fate for being guilty of the same crimes. Some members already have risen up. Most wont though and that’s perfectly normal. The majority of people regardless of who they are or what they do are committed to self preservation which prohibits protests and institutional change. Ignorance of ones rights are also a barrier to change. But none the less, members are fighting back. How many members are fighting back is not important, one member who writes a letter requesting the right documents to the right person or entity is enough. How do you think the MUP Program was changed from a penalty based program to an incentive program?? Because less than a handful of members said that program is illegal and filed charges before the NLRB. Don’t worry, the UBC will be changed once again by a small group of members. Doug and Co. know change is coming and it won’t be an army that brings them down, just a handful of concerned members and law enforcement agents. I am one of those handful of members.
If you think for 1 minute that the the " council" relaxed the mups because of their own devices you are intentionally being mislead ( imagine that!!) By the leadership in this council.
This started the week after we were merged. The mups a bit later.
We are carpenters and not lawyers , but through due diligence, research, and paper trails we effected change.
The council retained an attorney who was a former nrlb attorney.
We pay exorbitant billable hours to this attorney ..Mr Heinemann.
Yet every step of the way ... Overcoming the local nrlb offices who were obviously being " biased" FOR the union ... Every step of the way Mr H advised the leadership .... Poorly... So much so that us simple "carpenters " who even our gen pres calls monkeys... Shredded Heinemann.

3 attorneys from the nrlb offices have " been reassigned" or " left" the nrlb offices over this issue.
Ya see. It was their job to " make this go away" or " make it so hard that people were discouraged"

Great work on the MUP’s!!! The councils reversal on the MUP program has gone to the extant that members can’t be barred from being Delegates to GC even if they had an outstanding MUP assessment, a far cry indeed from where this started. I remember Balantyne was indignant over the first loss the MUP program faced before the NLRB brought by an MRC retiree!!!!
Now you dumb dumb Reps who have been given LU and or Council credit cards, be advised that your purchases made with said cards are not valid unless they meet the following criteria; 1) the purchase was made in the best interest of the members, and 2) was authorised by the majority of members preferably before the purchase was made but at the least after the purchase following member review and approval at a Regular Union meeting. There is more than 1 member and " entity" that have these statements.
Since filing must be through a specific protocal and agency... And heres one of the roadblocks we had to overcome.

They oversee that a "union" is operating by their by laws charters etc.
So even if in the complaint there are egregious racketeering and tax fraud or other serious crimes... Olms only has jurisdiction to look at the " process" and do not notify the IRS, FBI, or Dol etcc.
So you have to insure that all your docs CC those agencies and then send follow up to each agency to specifically address the issue and have supporting docs.
Needless to say. The criminal activity of our organization is soooo intertwined, so wide spread, that it takes a bit of effort to disect and extract everything .. Trust me. The agencies make it difficult.
We arent lawyers but we are persistent. Its been an eyeopening experience on many levels to see just how corrupt the whole system is.
