If im denied health benefits bc i only had 599 hours in 6 months: I should get that 599 hours refunded to me to buy my own coverage. When i have 960 hours in the same 6 month period... Everything over 600 should go to an account with my name and number ... Like a reserve. Not back to the " fund" Its the biggest theft and scam going. Ex. If i work 2000 hours a year then why isnt the 800 hours i generated put into a fund account with my name and ubc number. For a year where i might need it. Those members who post on this board obviously know why Team McCarron must go, so we’re the choir and we’re preaching to our selves. Those we need to preach to are our members on the job who are less than informed or “just want to work”. These are the members that can select the next UBC President but who will remain on the sidelines if they are not educated about what’s it at stake. What is the most important way to reach these ambivalent members? Money!!! Ask them how much money they will have contributed over the course of the their career? (Avg. Contribution: $10.00 x 40 hrs = $400.00 per week x 45 weeks per year = $18,000 per year x 30 years = $540,000 approx. Total). What they are going to do when they can’t retire as planned? Why don’t they have a say as to how their Union is managed?
The person who controls the pension and the healthcare is the most powerful person in a union. Any union.
They can make you dance, sing, juggle, and act the fool.

How much money has been collected from MUP fees and where does it go? What’s it used for? What is the money not to be used for? Where is the criteria for the collection AND the use of the MUP money located? Is it the Council Bylaws??

Where are the financial status and reports ( required by law) and why are we even asking these questions?
Is the fund tax exempt?

Hmmmm, so the NRCC MUP money was transferred to the KML Council into some account that isn’t listed on the KML’s list of accounts? Someone should ask where this money is located, what’s used for, who manages the money etc. The Council formerly known as the KML has to have a list of all financial accounts and corresponding statements that can be reviewed. I’m sure all this information will be available at the next Council Meeting.
