i am a 35 year member in local 158 who owes 250 for mups i refused to pay the fine and tried to pay my dues months in a row and was told they cannot accept them so i told the girl i was taping our call nothing against her but i need proof i tried to pay i i did this for three months straight and three voice recordings so i already told roy if he needs the tapes i have them he laughed and said thanks but were good they already have plenty this union is so stupid how could sprolles destroy us in just three years market share is down their suspending 100s of members for not paying fines but the truth is we were trying to paythe dues and they would not accept themthese guys are no good our leadership has been destoyed

As with any contract... The memmbers continued to satisfy the contract until it expired on 1 may 16. At which point no contract existed... And noooo authority to " forward" nrcc bylaws or dues withdrawls.

Now hear this: Switching our defined benefit plan to a variable rate fund is bad, very bad and for reason, it eliminates the unfunded early withdrawal payment for signatory contractors who don’t resign. There are too many GC’s and small subcontractors that would not resign if the early unfunded pension withdrawal penalty is eliminated. We could easily lose 1/2 of our signatory contractors at the end of the next contract.
If this were too happen the other signatory contractors would bail because they couldn’t compete against all the new non-signatory contractors.
So if your a working member or a retiree you better get in the fight because you will not have a career as a Union carpenter or as a retiree if our Pension Fund is converted to a Variable Rate fund.
Send a letter to the Council via certified mail that you don’t want the pension fund merged or converted to another type of fund. You can start asking questions about why the Council is employing individuals who were forced out of their home Council and LU in NYC, etc.
The EAS (Spencer, McCarron, Sproules) are diligently working to get the GBCA to approve the plan to switch our Pension Fund to a variable rate fund. Now is the time to oppose this!!
Once the Pension Fund is switched it isn’t going back and the contractors that exit through the door opened by McCarron and his co-conspirators (Spencer, Sproules, Etc) won’t be employing or any other member. This will be the nail in our coffin.....

Members told Council Managers over and over that this program was illegal and the response received was “You can complete your assignment, pay your fine, or become an ex-member.” This was extortion.
Criminal conspiracy and Act : The creation or increase of a dues assessment, in this case the MAP dues, without member approval as determined by a secret ballot vote cast at a special called meeting followed by proper written notice. This violates the LMRDA of 1959 and the UBCJA Constitution. It is a criminal scheme to collect money from members wages to be used as the Union managers see fit and to replace what can’t be collected from the MUP Program.
Criminal conspiracy and Act: Union Employees use Union funds to purchase goods and services that only benefit them and not the member.
Criminal conspiracy and Act: Appointed Union Managers employ individuals within the Union who have been deemed unfit or ineligible to be Union employees in other Councils because of criminal affiliations and breach of duty. There was a contract.
On the last night of the contract at like 3oclock in the morning they had a negotiation call.
The contract put before the carpenters was much different than the one agreed to.
Sr in due diligence did do the right thing and in good faith bargaining had 72 hours to bring it to the members.
We were locked out that morning under the excuse " refused to sign"
In case you werent sure.
We won the case almost 2 years later.
Anyway. All irrelevant. There are no conspiracy theories in this case champ.
Its all verifiable and documented.

To say team Coryell lost the convention Center is akin to saying the earth is flat. We were locked out by the convention Center management with Spencer’s approval. We as members of the MRC and our former LU’s were better off in every way then than we are now.
Team Coryell never adopted the MUP program, never adopted the provisional carpenters program, never gave our work away, never abandoned the appointing of stewards, never let organised crime figures work for the Council, never let contractors not pay benefits, never adopted a variable rate pension plan, never sold the membership out to the contractors, etc., etc.
The EAS just got smoked on almost every charge filed by Roy Ernst because the Council was wrong in forcing members to participate in certain activists or be fined.
The only thing typical about UBC management is what we have now, what we had under Team Coryell was the exception.

In the meantime tensions indeed grew as pressure from the board and eddie did escalate. ( you want the names just ask) .
The deck was being stacked against us and doc then started as he had recently joined forces with norcross.

There was only Team Coryell 1.0. The EAS is what it is and has no relation or connection to the past. It’s a Jersey garbage operation now. They wanted it, they got it, and the performance or lack there of is there for all to see. The working member in Philadelphia is exponentially worse off following 2016 than they were ever before.
Team Spencer/Sproule isn’t fit wash team Coryell’s jock strap because they aren’t smart enough, aren’t aggressive enough, and are physically lazy in mind and body.
Non Union GC’s are working today in Center City Philadelphia without facing any resistance.
Frank Spencer and Billy Sproule are physically and mentally weak, if push comes to shove they will accept being pushed by the non union employer as long as they keep getting paid. The only one person weaker than them is Doug McCarron.
