The carpenters' membership does not need a general office or non productive general officers, to operate a union organization . . . waste of money. Millions of dollars of union members' dues money is wasted on the DC and Vegas facilities . . . and the staffs which administers both.
PerCapita money (from member's dues) to the UBC general office should be redirected to members' pensions and health care plans! Its our dues money, let's do something about it!

Next, the UBC Convention delegates establish a Constitution committee to change our Union's rules . . . setting up a new governing body (committee) of regional directors (elected by the respective regional memberships). There is no salaries for these new committee participants . . . they're already paid by the respective councils. There is no committee "President" . . . just a chairperson, who is elected by the committee, to serve for a limited period of time (to be determined by the membership).

They already have the Provisional Carpenter Language in the Council Bylaws. So even if you voted it down in your local Agreement it would be effective through the Council. One last note, the Council Delegates have the authority to ratify all “Union” Agreements, and being that most of the Delegates are employees of the Council, there won’t be a question as to what they’re are going to approve......
The council reps....per the ubc constitution ... Article 32b ... Are illegitimate.
32B of the UBC Constitution refers to filling vacancies of elected officers of a local union or elected officers of council. 32B does not apply to council representatives. Review the bylaws for both your local union and council. Those bylaws will define the selection, and or replacement process of representatives of your area's membership.
Kml council was illegally voted on.
Not ONE single requirement was met to have that election to install and or replace council officers.

The last council election in the kml was completely illegitimate.
Delegates have not been elected in over 3 years ( a federal and ubc constitution requirement)
There was no notice to membership.
No notice of candidate slates, or vetting process ... Relayed to membership... Only to a an illegitimate delegate body.
We are no longer " valued" and have been seperated from the process.
It is time we " seperate" them from any and all financial support to include weekly dues check offs.
Those of you who never signed " the bogus mix 20 20 ( which was a work authorization card... You were smart not to sign it)

I guess that’s why Ballantine told Reps if they referred anyone out to work outside the Mix they would be fired. I never signed up for the mix, and I never will!!! I believe as as Members that we have the right to vote by secret ballot to increase existing dues or to create new ones. Who voted to pay 4.9% in dues to the Council?? I know i didn’t!!! But what about the delegates to the council? Did they vote by secret ballot to increase the Council Dues Assessment? Nope. We are being illegally taxed for representation we don’t receive!!!!
The KML delegates voted for the 4.9% about 5 years ago and it was not an overwhelming majority by any means. Now it is being rammed up our ass because of the council merger. This was the brilliant idea of Watercotte and his dumber than dogshit assistant. This was their way to fill the coffers in order to fund the raises they were both hungry for!

That’s sounds about right!! What’s interesting is that we here in Philly never signed new dues deduction authorisation cards with our new Councils, not the NRCC and not the KML. The Union is supposed to keep all the signed dues deduction cards on file and provide them to the employer to confirm the members authorisation to deduct the dues from their gross wages. I bet there are thousands of members who have not signed new dues deduction cards working in Philly who also never signed up for the Mix. The employer Associations if notified, even anonymously, would direct their employers to stop making dues deductions on behalf of the Union until the Union provided them with copies of the signed authorisation cards. That’s a major liability for the employers.....

How does GP McCarron allow a UBC owned firm to not pay benefits and then allow a UBC subsidiary to sue for those benefits?
