A former investigator with the New York City District Council of
Carpenters claims he was fired after complaining about selective
investigations of corruption in the union.
Peter Marsalisi, who worked as a senior investigator with the union’s
inspector general’s office, claims that union officials discouraged him
from investigating certain cases “involving fraud, corruption and
criminal activity.” For the union, which has been under federal
supervision for more than 20 years, the inspector general’s office is a
key part of its return to self governance.
The whistleblower lawsuit doesn’t provide details on the cases
Marsalisi wished to pursue, but indicates that particular union members
and companies were able to avoid scrutiny. He alleges he was wrongfully
fired in October 2017.
The District Council has been under court supervision since 1994, as
part of an agreement to settle a federal racketeering lawsuit against
the union. Since then, an independent federal monitor
has overseen the union and led investigations of alleged corruption. In
recent years, two internal watchdog positions were created: chief
compliance officer and inspector general. The current monitor, Glen
McGorty, has gradually transferred authority to the IG’s office with the
goal of taking over the monitor’s investigative duties.

It looks he kept all the details out of his initial suit unlike Ballantine who dropped bombs right out of the gate. It appears to me that his guy is probably giving the Council a chance to settle with him before the details of his claims become public. The legitimacy of his claims will be confirmed by the value of his settlement. But then the Feds will jump in and pick up where the settlement leaves off because no NDA can protect one from criminal proceedings!!! But the key here is that the GP who gets paid a million dollars a year, that we know about, is again a sleep at the switch.......

As members we should be ashamed of. How we allowed this man keep running us farther and farther into the ground. Until this membership balls up and sticks together This is the life we live. So instead of laughing at the members who are telling everyone about the corruption. Maybe you should ask what can I do to farther the cause the members you are laughing at are warning you guys of what’s coming And you don’t care as long as you are working and getting a check. But there will be a time when you will care when you can’t get a job because other members are making. Half your rate so just keep working and you can watch us keep diminishing. Blaming the members for not getting rid of McCarron and Co., for all their misdeeds is too simplistic and is only technically correct. The average member is trying to survive and take care of their family, replacing McCarron is low on their agenda because of necessity, you focus on what’s most important first. Is that right?? No, but it’s a product of survival. Has McCarron destroyed the UBC? No, but he’s close and he’ll be closer if he gets re-elected. There is only one thing that you, and every other member should be advocating for, and that is the election of working Delegates to the GC next year. Why because that is achievable without much money or effort, and once you control 51% of the Delegates at the UBC GC, your on your way to victor y and real change!!! Remember the average member never voted for McCarron so don’t blame the victim.
Electing delegates that work with their tools to the GC and shit canning all of the suckass reps will help. BUT, they need someone other than Douchebag Doug to vote for. Who is going to step up and be a legitimate challenger that cannot be scared off. At some point most likely after the first of the year, someone is going to have to throw down and announce that he/she is going to run. Whoever it is needs to know the UBC constitution in depth as Dougs Dogs will be looking for any misstep to void their legitimacy as a contender!!
The time is ripe for change, lets make it happen in 2020.

Invite them along to monitor your campaign .
Have them watch every step that is taken .
Tell Douglas McCarron that you are running but under the full protection of the fbi .
There is your game changer .
You are not only campaigning but are insuring alll protocol is observed .
Let the feds watch EXACTLY what doug does .
