I’m not loving the selection my self either, but I know that I have the Janus decision to fall back on. I also believe that no one especially McGarvey and company will help Doug and his UBC in light of how much they also hate him.

I do agree that retirees are not likely to be helped by these guys considering what they have already done to screw them!!! But then again it’s the retirees who elected Doug in the first place and then went back and voted away the members ability to elect their own representatives, so I’m not too concerned with their plight considering that they got us to where we are today.

Last but not least Donald is not secretary of Labor!!!

Dear UBC leaders, your days of endless thievery are coming to an end...... Biden is never going to help you, and neither is anyone else.......

Happy 2021!!!

The retirees did not elect doug.
This paid protectorate goes back a longggg way champ.
1994 when we lost the right to vote for our agents and organizers was the beginning of completely sham voting.

I never voted for mccarron.
Never once had any input to vote for mccarron. I watched as Doug was using rico tactics to take control. There was not a lot we could do in the mid 80s and on since retaliation was a real and severe consequence.
Do yourself a favor.
Research every line of your constitution.
Every by law.

There is where the truth is buried and there is where your rights can be enforced.
Compare our ubc constitution to federal law.
You will see the issue.

My point was just that, that at least Donald was not selected to be sec of Labor. That would be much worse than this guy!!!

Anonymous said...

The delegates elected to select a GP in 1990 at the GC, or there abouts, did in fact elect Doug and then at the next General Convention they approved the change to the UBC constitution that eliminated members ability to elect their own representatives, who from there forward are selected by the EST.

I also never voted for McCarron either champ, so your in good company.

I would like to see more retirees get engaged and go after Doug, because by virtue of being retired they can’t be retaliated against unlike us working members.

In any event, the curtains are closing in on Doug and his associates, unfortunately that same curtain will close on way too many retirees.

To my fellow working members in Philadelphia and else where, you better get in the fight because your pension is we know it is on the line!!!

Can someone shed some light on Doug and his connections to RELATED.
How him and Spencer underhanded Joe Geiger NYC EST

Anonymous said...

Besides that the Carpenters were the first to allow open shop while all the other building trades had it all locked up.....i don’t know what to say.
Recently the large sculpture centerpiece at Hudson yards “the Vessel” has closed due to repeated suicides. Related needed open shops google what the vessel cost (I believe large concessions were made and we gave them millions . This was also one of the first places Doug thought he could put a providential worker he be a helper and laborer for clean up. Hey Doug did Spencer ever mention that this is NYC and they’re not going to just let you take their work. Dementia must be kicking in or your medication which is it.

The Hudson Yards deal McCarron signed, the Eastern District Agreement, and any other agreement signed by a UBC affiliate that allows contractors to pay no benefits or reduced benefits to anyone other than a bona fide apprentice constitutes a breach of trust to the respective benefit funds.

It’s time to take our dues back because we’re not getting the representation we’re paying for, that costs us as members thousands of dollars a year. Do the math on the ITC dues and ask your self what is the benefit. The cash coming in to that entity is massive and where does that go??

Anonymous said...

Pay attention to the Camden Redevelopment.
This is EXACTLY the same course of action they played in hudson yards. This time its George Norcross leading this.
For all those that " get tired" of hearing his name. Sorry. The facts bear out what they do.
George Norcross has been controlling the ( then nrcc) and calling the shots for the kml/ EAS/ ETC.
The laufenberg firing was a kink in their plans.
Dealing with tax incentives and particularly 1 group. Express script. Located??? Camden.

Norcross has been defining the future of the phila carpenter for almost 19 years.
Again. Not to be a broken record... The facts are what they are.

Anonymous said...

McCarron had his shit hooks all over Express Scripts all for self gain

Anonymous said...

Recently Team McCarron actually tried to set up a mail service prescription company, of course for the benefit of the member.

Anonymous said...

I go out of my way not to use express scripts and you should to

Anonymous said...

And will continue

Laufenberg was slated to run that program.
Is it making sense now?

So Ballantyne and his secretary and the guy he scooped up from the meadowlands All collectively went to court and money was awarded.
So where’s the Calvary?
Under his leadership many people were hurt and all he did was snuff fires out and their ability to report the wrongs. But when the system he served gets rid of him it’s different.
No Calvary no Feds no Agencies are coming

Anonymous said...

Probably is probably a consultant within some made up company.
Just like the whole ITC make a bunch of learning seminars then lobby for grants and pay themselves for bringing you and housing you. Funny we have a hotel but when reps are at tradeshows and such they don’t stay at our hotel

Anonymous said...

You are correct. Ballentine like many other former UBC managers we're willing accessories until it was there turn get the shaft.

John had the opportunity to do the right thing and take Spencer and company to court and get them under oath and ask them about each allegation in his lawsuit, but he showed his true colours and took more of our money.

Well done John. You blew your one opportunity to stand on your own two feet and be a man.

Anonymous said...

All that couth and now he’s behind his kid and others getting paid off!
Hey Verrelli you going to do anything different or just take what you think is yours.I bet the governor don’t care what happened to you or Bill Pascrell or Mikie Sherrill or Dan Christie or john young list goes on.

Anonymous said...

No. Sadly there will be no justice. The time to strike was under the last admin where there was actually a fair chance at being heard.

The free for all that just stole the country has zero regard for jobs. Economy. Freedom. Or justice.

Ballantyne... Was and always will be a " jilted lover"
Looking for his cheese.

Biden puts moratorium on new oil leases.

Climate " protection"

People. You better wake up.
I do not care about your political views.
Truly i dont.
We are a LABOR organization , which should be focused on just that.
Labor. Hours. Working.
Jobs.
The only people making money off of these policies are the union leaderships who receive grants, stipends, federal dollars that do NOTHING to help the WHOLE rank and file.
Race, sex, gender, specific programs do not lift alllll boats!!!
In fact. It barely lifts a few...and leaves the rest in dry dock or the mud.

If this biden continued trajectory continues... You will lose your livlihood. Your pension as you know it. Perhaps your home. Certainly your job.

Anonymous said...

Well before we lose it they will tell us it’s gone and blame whatever current events

Anonymous said...

The least of our concerns is a moratorium on new oil leases. This sector hasn’t generated many jobs for members in years.

Anonymous said...

In NJ all the Proffesional that represent us get us a reduced rate at refineries (because big oil can’t afford it)and that’s on all shifts yeah we have real deal makers right Pete Gowan you cry baby “contractors yell at me all day on phone calls”

Anonymous said...

Pete Gowan to all get familiar with this POS he is on his way up. Even though for years he cries how bad the council is and he’s going to retire. It’s not happening he’s on the rise never had it so good and making bank.
When they finally stick it in and twist on Billy it will be a toss up of wanna be cop Anthony Abrantas and Pete Gowan

Anonymous said...

Thats very shortsighted.
Its all related.
Jobs on pipeline equate to new buildings in areas that now need more businesses and supplies as the industry enhances the need in communities.
More business means more , food stores, barber shops, salons, gas stations, expanded medical facilities, on and on.
It is all inter dependent.
PES closing has a huge financial impact on phila.
Millions of manhours equate to billions of taxes and monies spent in multiple communities in an surrounding that market.
Pes will not reopen ( mostly because of political green new deal progressive skinbag elected officials)
That another story.

Alllll jobs are intertwined.

Anonymous said...

PES is a loss, but that facility struggled for years because the different owners never had their own cheap supply of oil.

We get no piece of pipe line work because we’re excluded from the national pipeline agreement.

No one is building new oil refineries because your skinbag Republicans and oil company friends can now refine oil oversees and import refined products back here.

When the fracking industry was booming we didn’t get anything from any of the indirect economic development you mention, and no one else does now because all that work dried up.

Oil is never going to be the commodity it once was because demand is drying up due to the development of new technologies like lithium ion batteries and less than new technologies like hydrogen fuel cells, etc.

Natural gas a future because it can be used to generate energy and it’s used to create a whole series of products.

That being said the biggest threat to working union members is Doug McCarron and no one else. If you think otherwise go invest your money in oil or lamp oil.

Arguing with fools only bring foolish responses. Now dance jester.

Don’t worry 254 will have membership work way under the rate at the refineries

EAS/UBC: Tell us where our members need to be rate wise and we’ll put them there.

Owner/Contractor: Really?? You’d do that??

EAS/UBC: Do it?? We’ve been doing it for years. Check out the Hudson Yards job in NYC.

Owner/Contractor: Ok, $25.00 per hour, no benefits, no conditions.

EAS/UBC: Considerate it done.

Owner/Contractor: Where are you guys going to get the members to work at this rate??

EAS/UBC: That’s our problem. But here’s the deal: you take 4% out their wages and pay that to us, that’s our piece.

Owner/Contractor: Not a problem. You guys set a new low on miss representation, but we’ll take it

Anonymous said...

Everyone forgets what EAS did when they need to rid of a Rep so Joe Cioffee 1342/253 could get Jamie (covid cough) Seratella in. All the other reps came together and said yeah that guy doesn’t do his job. They laid off numerous reps and instructors because of a recession. Funny laughenberg was building a gym (at fund office) you know for all the tenants they were looking to draw in.
In the end all instructors were hired back one Rep when he was let go told Lopez and Sullivan you want the truck come and get it. He never had anything to do with them and as for the guy who they wanted gone.....well he beat them in court. And all the angry white guys well were pretty angry that he made the council look like racist POS that they are!!!! Wake up these guys are all about themselves nobody going to do anything for you!
Shades of the trades Sisters in the Hood no more grant money coming in

Anonymous said...

sprolles needs to resign or be fired. doug do your fu——- job and fire this tool !!!

Anonymous said...

They have a perfect dummy they manipulate no way they would get rid of him. For every council figure head you see theirs a team of handlers and overseers behind them. As for New Jersey you think Kevin is running (training center) I know of at least 2 jerks that are in the shadows.
You think Bobby Satriano was figuring things out for maryland waterfront and other international projects
No that would be (well I keep that one in my pocket for now)

Anonymous said...

The real sock puppet is billy sprolles he has to ask to use the bathroom down the hall that is the fakest thing you ever seen that guy is no more an est then Hocker and tapkin are carpenters !!!! Title only he could not order breakfast with out ray bulgaris approval

Anonymous said...

ray bulgaris only guy in history who refused a background check (disqualified himself) with NYC then Gets a job with international Spencer and McCarron real good guys 253 suck jobs deserve it

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

I believe this a reference to Big snow at the American Dream they were testing the ice machines. I don’t know all the details but guys had to work in this area while chemicals in the water supply and chemicals to make the artificial snow had a reaction and a chemical cloud was made someone called it in and it was downplayed Osha of Bergen county also dragged their feet. Wasn’t much longer we are all wearing masks now Dave Laggas you are a POS
