This Tuesday is 253 September meeting that’s 3 more months and no official word from the funds in regards to our pension change. Jamie good move passing the President position to Tommy…..

All the 253 members should call Pete Gowin According to the Northeast funds Website he’s on their board. I believe he was a 253 guy. demand to know how they came to the Decision to switch the funds over to a variable rate. What protections and safeguards are in place for the memberships money? I mean if he does sit on the board he should be able to at least string together a couple sentences to explain why 253 future membership, and the retirees are going to get robbed at the behest of the international. How was it brought up? Were there any other options at least brought to the table? what independent research did you do Pete Can you explain to us how a variable rate works? which way did you vote ? Did you at least put up a fight for 253‘s membership?
Let me guess. Was this Pete you speak of a Council employee when he voted to approve your pension fund from a defined benefit fund to a defined contribution/variable rate fund???
I would think his vote and the vote of the other labor trustees could be challenged on the grounds that the fund’s participants never elected this Pete as their Trustee, or any other trustee for that matter, to represent there interests as fund participants. The EST that was also not elected directly by the membership appointed the council employees to be trustees to the pension fund and they represent his interests and not that of the fund participants because they can’t fire him only the EST can.
And I thought Pete was just a sit along the sideliner put his cousin in at maintenance at Bluecross Blueshield with a Van and make him a delegate.
No coincidences…..right cuz.
