Assembly member Anthony Verrelli and four other former carpenters union employees have settled a years long lawsuit that alleged they were punished, surveilled and ultimately fired for supporting efforts to combat corruption and discrimination in the union.
The terms of the lawsuit’s settlement were not disclosed in the April 18 letter from Seth Ptasiewicz, a lawyer for the union, to state Superior Court Judge Cynthia Santomauro.

The Eastern Regional Council of Carpenters reported paying $6 million to settle a lawsuit filed by New Jersey Assembly member Anthony Verrelli and four other former union employees who alleged they were punished, spied on and then fired for supporting efforts to combat corruption and discrimination in the union.
The lawsuit was settled in April and the terms were not disclosed. But in its Labor Organization Annual Report filed with the federal Office of Labor-Management Standards, the union reported paying $5,999,999 for a legal settlement.
While the form doesn’t describe what the payment is for — it says it’s an “NDA settlement,” short for “non-disclosure agreement” — a law firm listed and the date of payment matches up with the settlement of the lawsuit.

You’re welcome from Philly bye the way, I can’t stop thinking about how many times I’ve heard Jersey carpenters say that they don’t like working in Philly because of tolls and parking. My voice, like every other members voice, is a voice without a vote!! Verrelli never stood for anything more than his own interests just like the rest of his fellow reps. What happened to Verrelli happened because his boss and friend John Ballentine forgot that the members didn’t elect him and that he had a boss who could get rid of him just like his predecessor. So Verrelli got mowed down just like so many others and then he sues the members for a, b, c and gets a seven figure settlement on top of his local and international pension and a juiced up savings plan.
You ask what I did. I just work for a living and pay dues. What did he do? Nothing, but play a role and collect a check he would never earn in the field. If he had to work for a living he would’ve starved.
Do I think Verrelli is a bad guy? No, but he’s not a hero, and he just got more of the members money he didn’t deserve.
He’s going to enjoy a retirement the majority of those he purported to represent are NEVER going to get.

As you can see I myself have already reviewed the LM2 to "see what I could find....I would NOT start at the LM2 for EST pay because it does not contain the EST total take for the year. That would only be on the form 990. If you have reviewed the LM2 why do you refuse to list some of the "upsetting: items you speak of so we all have a clue what you are talking about. For instance somebody posted "3641 members" I am assuming that was you.If you posted it how about showing us where it came from along with the other "items" you are referencing.
I was trying to be sarcastic, but I guess I missed the mark. The point I was trying to make is that LM2 is written confirmation of the complete and total waste of members dues money on everyone but the members. If my money is going to be wasted I’d at least like some of it to be wasted on me, but oh well, so it goes.
