A former high-ranking official in the powerful Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters has settled a lawsuit in which he alleged he was fired after uncovering malfeasance that had the blessing of some of the international union's top leaders.
The complaint, filed in New Jersey Superior Court in October by John Ballantyne and two other former union employees, was dismissed with prejudice earlier this month after the union and the plaintiffs came to an agreement, court records show.

It’s time to start filing lawsuits to make the payment of Union dues optional and to stop the crime perpetuated by Doug McCarron and his minions.
Take away their resources they use to defend themselves that they take from OUR wages, and make them pay for their criminal miss deeds that no one else will.
Do you want to take back your Union?
Do you want to preserve and protect your retirement?
Do you want to see Doug McCarron exposed in a COURT of LAW for the criminal that he is?
Do you want to save what’s left of your career?
Then it’s time to take real legal action and go to Court where victory is virtually assured. The one place Doug McCarron and his ilk want to avoid over all others is a US Court of Law. It’s time to take to them to Court.

Once a believer of John Ballantyne so where are the Feds and all other agencies he supposedly contacted once he knew george and others did us wrong.
Everyone is in power even more so with Ray Bugarus as chief of staff.
So what happened after he settled he got paid and it all goes away.
How could he sound alarms and justin continued to be employed that there tells me he didn’t contact anyone. Does that make sense?
It does make sense. Essentially, if everything that Ballentine alleged to have happened, actually happened, then you’d think the Feds would be carrying boxes out the offices in Edison and Philadelphia.
But one thing did happen, a Federal grand jury was impaneled out of Newark to investigate all the allegations listed in Ballantine’s wrongful termination lawsuit. This grand jury also issued subpoenas seeking a number of records from the UBC. As far as I know this grand jury is still active.
I don’t see how there would be no criminal activity uncovered by a grand jury investigating the UBC in light of what we already know has happened to date.
Before any grand jury would be impaneled a review of any potential criminal activity would be conducted internally to avoid wasting resources. This is why in most cases if a grand jury is impaneled it’s because the govt thinks a crime has been committed and the govt has at least an 80% chance of getting charges brought and winning the case.
McCarron and Co. violate the law everyday, it’s a matter of time before they get pinched, I just hope they are running out of time.

Over 25 years as the carpenters union general president, and never, during this time, has a positive word been reported on Doug McCarron. All this time, the UBC has not grown is membership or in union market share. Proof is always in the performance . . . and Doug McCarron's performance record is deplorable!
Other than scandal, what has the UBC general office accomplished in 25 plus years? How much money has the carpenters membership wasted on the general office and its officers? What is membership's expectation of the general office? The UBC general office is a sham. The UBC membership can move forward, in a positive way, without these do-nothing figureheads.
Ask yourself, what benefit does the UBC general president; the 1st and 2nd general vice presidents; the UBC Secretary-Treasurer; and all those District Vice Presidents bring to the UBC membership?
When will the membership take back the carpenters union? You can start with your respective Union Locals! It would only take a couple of union meetings, where a large supportive group demanding change . . . even challenging the Local's chairman, when you are ruled out of order. Take over your meetings, these McCarron appointed cronies will not know what to do. The power is within you, take advantage of your collective strengths. You will be surprised what you can accomplish!
Think about this. There are more reps in offices than on the road with fancy titles and 6 figure salaries no organizing whatsoever only sending there buddies to the few union jobs who suck up to them . They do not use the mix 20/20 for what it was intended for. You still have to call in once a month to retain your spot on out of work lists. What a joke!
Don’t worry they are hiring more, you should’ve put in maybe you could’ve been a contender.
