Frank Vanderhoff, 58, of Rochester Hills, is among the union's
members who are anxious and angry about the prospect of a pension cut.
He retired in November 2017 after 34 years in the trade because of
various ailments picked up during his decades on the job, including bad
knees, a bad hip and a damaged rotator cuff.
On
two occasions, Vanderhoff was mere months away from qualifying for a
full pension, he said, but each time the fund's trustees changed the
plan's retirement age formula to delay the insolvency date. The result
was a 28% cut to what Vanderhoff once anticipated that his pension would
be. If the pending cuts happen, his pension would be cut even further.
“I
will lose my house if this goes through," Vanderhoff said. “I’m not
looking for a handout, I'm just looking for survival and getting what I
deserve.”

About the ghost employee. Talk to Mike Tapken. He definitely knows the whole story.
Find out who the steward was first of all. He wanted nothing to do with that situation.
The job was on Washington Avenue south Philly.
Tapken was told to do a report on it, kind of cover-up.
Just call Hocker himself. He won’t lie. If you really want information then call Tapken.
You should call rep pat mcginley.
